Lorie's Ride

Lorie's Ride is a 1-day bicycle tour in memory of Lorie Kirkley. The tour features routes of 12, 25, 38, 62 and 100 miles long through the countryside, beginning in Chesterton, Indiana. There were 450 cyclists and all together raised approximately $15,000 for the Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County. VNA is a nonprofit organization providing care to patients in the community who are recovering, disabled, chronically or terminally ill. Their programs include nursing therapies, hospice care, telehealth, companion homemaker and Meals on Wheels. Lorie was an avid cyclist and VNA nurse who was killed in 1999.
