July PCARC Meeting
Just a quick heads-up that there will be no change in meeting date due to the Independence Day holiday. The July meeting will be on the regular day and time of July 3rd, 7:30pm, at the Chesterton Library Annex.


Mike Truax, KB9OCE, SK
Our good friend Mike Truax, KB9OCE, passed away on June 5th. Mike and his wife Debbie were very active with our club for many years... holding offices, and participating in just about all club events. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him.


Swapmeet ~ Campout ~ Special Event
The Porter County Amateur Radio Club will hold a swapmeet and campout for the whole weekend starting at 3:00pm on Aug. 21st through 6:00pm on Aug. 23rd, 2009. There is no charge for the swapmeet or camping, but donations for food will go to the club. Location is the All States Radio Club (W9SAL) Complex on US 35 and Schultz Rd. in LaPorte (the concrete radio tower). Talk-in on 146.775 (131.8). for more information about the swapmeet/campout.

There will also be a W9SAL Special Event operation from 1400Z (9:00am) Aug 22nd until 2200Z (5:00pm) Aug 23rd on or near frequencies of 21.350, 14.250, 7.250, and 3.950. Send mail to Joe, N9TAX, at for more info on this special event.
